The best things I have accomplished came from someone telling me, "That's something you could do." The simple and small encouraging words, even if they were false, made me work twice as hard because someone believed in me. I pursued sports, jobs, and companies fearlessly because someone I trusted encouraged me. How many other students thrive on the possibility they could do something well?
When I ask students what they want to be when they grow up, I want them to think beyond the walls of their community. I want them imagine and discover jobs they never knew existed. I want them to see where passion, determination, and hard work can take you. We exist in an era of time when our varied interests drive the heart of our professions. Won't you help me show them what is possible?
